I have spent far too much time on buses but I think I’m happier not flying anyway. Crossing borders is interesting. Meeting other westerners and doing our best not to get scammed for a few measly dollars.

Anyway, I crossed the border in to Cambodia but just before that I was put on a mini bus with other people going to Cambodia then taken off and put on a mini bus going to 4000 Islands in Loas. So was a bit concerned when noone I was with was heading the same way I was. After a few hours travelling around the roads of Loas I’m told to get out and on to another bus and see the same people I was orignally travelling with. Bizarre.

I meet up with Eefje and find out we may have met in Vang Vieng. We head for a hostel and chill out for the eve. The next day, Ankor Wat. We hire bikes to do this as it seems like a fun idea and active. Well, it was fun alright but we were absolutly soaked. The rain came down on us like it was a waterfall. We stop off at a road side cafe and chat with the locals until it stopped. Ah well I do like the rain.

Ankor was amazing. Even though it was rainy and full of tourists, I’m so glad I have been there. It’s very much Tomb Raider. There were also monkeys! My first non english animal and it was wild whooo. The monkey took food from my hand haha!

I advise anyone who likes very old ruins to visit Ankor you won’t be dissapointed.

I didn’t stay for long in Siem Reap but aim to head back to Cambodia again. Maybe include it in a visit to Vietnam eh Clare?

A taxi to the border, then in to Thailand, then another sketchy minibus to Bangkok. Also, a visit to the hosptial because of a very strong coffee. Oh I amuse myself.
